Colonel (Retired) Dwight A. Lydic

 

COL Lydic was born September 7, 1954 in Indiana, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Penns Manor High School in 1972 and graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) in 1976 with a B.S. Degree in Education and received his commission as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army through the Army ROTC program at IUP

COL Lydic's civilian education also includes graduating from Villanova University in Villanova, Pennsylvania with a Masters Degree in Business Administration. He also holds a graduate certificate from Kaplan University in Financial Planning and holds the Certified Financial Planner Certification from the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards in Washington, D.C.

COL Lydic's military education includes the United States Army Field Artillery School, Ft. Sill, Oklahoma where he completed the Field Artillery Officer Basic Course, Cannon Battery Officer Course, the Officer's Advanced Course, and the Field Artillery Officer Pre-Command Course. He is also a graduate of the United States Army Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. COL Lydic was named to the Commandant's List at both schools for academic excellence. COL Lydic has also completed courses in Theater Nuclear Operations from the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, and the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center at Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico.

COL Lydic’s first tour of service was in the 2d Battalion, 41st Field Artillery in the 3rd Infantry Division, United States Army, Europe (Germany) where he served as a Field Artillery Forward Observer, Headquarters Platoon Leader, and Brigade Fire Support Officer. He has served in numerous other Field Artillery assignments, to include two tours of duty as a Field Artillery Battery Commander; Field Artillery Battalion Fire Direction Officer; Field Artillery Battalion Operations Officer; Battalion Executive Officer; Battalion Commander of an M109A6 Paladin Battalion; Division Fire Support Coordinator; Field Artillery Brigade Executive Officer, and Division Field Artillery Operations Officer.

COL Lydic’s final tour of duty was at USSTRATCOM as Deputy Chief of Current Operations in JFCC-Global Strike, and also Battle Watch Commander in the USSTRATCOM Global Operations Center from December 2008 through May 2013. In this assignment he coordinated operations and provided advice to the highest levels of the Department of Defense to include the President of the United States. COL Lydic retired after more than 34 years of service in May 2013.

Selected awards and decorations include: Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, U,S. Joint Meritorious Unit Award, U.S. Meritorious Service Medal (2 awards), Army Commendation Medal (5 awards), Army Achievement Medal (2 awards), U.S. Global War on Terror Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, Overseas Training Ribbon (2 awards), Honorable Order of St. Barbara, Ancient Order of St. Barbara.

COL Lydic is very involved in the Omaha community where he serves as the Marketing Director for Greater Omaha SCORE, and is the Financial Wellness Coach/Counselor at the Bellevue University Military Veterans Service Center.  He is a member of the Sarpy County Chamber of Commerce, and Military Officers Association of America – Heartland Chapter.

COL Lydic has two sons, Kurt and Jeffrey. Kurt lives in Nashville, TN with his wife Jamie and he is currently self-employed and completing his MBA Degree at Belmont University in Nashville. Jeffrey is a U.S. Army Captain assigned to Fort Bragg, NC. He resides in Fayetteville N.C. with his daughter, Hailey. 



 


1SG (RET) DANIEL G. FALCON
First Sergeant Falcon was born 2 December 1956 in Omaha, Nebraska. He graduated from Omaha South High in 1975. He began his career in the Army in July 1975 as a Military Intelligence Ground Sensor Specialist. He attended Basic Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and advanced Individual Training at Fort Huachuca, Arizona.
                                        

His military and civilian education includes Airborne Jump School, Jumpmaster School, 82nd Airborne Recondo School as well as many other specialty schools. He has attended the Primary, Basic, and Advance Non Commissioned Officer Courses, Drill Sergeant School, and the First Sergeants Course. First Sergeant Falcon holds an Associates Degree in Business and Administration from the American Intercontinental University.
