ACT/SAT

Most 4-year colleges/universities require the ACT or SAT for admission. Colleges typically use your highest composite score for admission and scholarship decisions.

ACCUPLACER

Most local 2-year community colleges require students take the Accuplacer. They will usually accept the ACT and SAT instead. Wait until January through March to take it.

ACCUPLACER: 

Computerized assessment used for placement into Math & English. Sections may be taken individually or together. Takes about 2 hours total to complete, but untimed. COMPANION: 

Written version of a comparable Accuplacer assessment for placement into Math & English for persons needing Disability Support Service accommodations. By appointment only at all testing locations, must have seen a DSS adviser for recommendation. Paper/Pencil version, also offered in large-print, braille and audio CD. Sections may be taken individually or together. No time limit. Testing is done using a test booklet, answer sheet, scratch paper and a no. 2 Pencil. Calculators not authorized .
