Benson High Magnet School does not handle cap and gown orders. It is all handled directly through School Traditions.  If you have any questions, please contact them.


Senior final failure notices from teachers are due to Ms. Carper in the School Counseling Office by 3:05 p.m. on Monday, May 17.  Final grades for Edmentum recovery courses must be emailed to Ms. Carper from teachers by 3:05 p.m.  on Monday, May 17.  Seniors in failing status for a required course for graduation or not having completed Edmentum recovery courses needed to meet requirements for graduation on May 17 at 3:05 p.m. will be NOT be eligible for participation in graduation at Baxter Arena on May 26.


Senior finals will be given during classes on May 13-14.  If a student does not take their finals during this time, it is up to the student to make arrangements with his/her teacher to take them. Teachers do not have to grant a second opportunity for a student to take a final.  It is important for seniors to stay in communication with their teachers.  
Graduation is at the Baxter Arena on Wednesday, May 26 at 2 PM. Graduates should arrive at Baxter Arena by 1 PM.  They will enter separately through the north entrance.  Families will need to enter through the west entrance.  Spectators will be able to enter the arena at 1 PM. This year, seating will be assigned.


Each senior will receive ONLY FOUR free tickets per family.  No extras may be purchased.  Baxter Arena will live stream the event.  A link to it will be included on this page, Facebook, and sent to families.  Seniors will be given their tickets at graduation rehearsal.



Cap and gown will be distributed on Benson High Magnet School on May 13-14th after school in front of the Library.  Any student who does not pick up his/her cap and gown during this time, may come up to Benson from 8-12 pm on May 17th and 18th. The cap and gowns will be located at the North Doors.  Students will not be permitted to enter any other part of the building.


In order to receive your cap and gown...

1.  It must be paid in full to School Traditions.

2.  All school/district fines must be paid in full.

3.   iPads, chargers, and keyboards along with any other borrowed school equipment and textbooks must be returned.



Graduation rehearsal is required and is at noon on May 24th at the Baxter Arena. Please arrive by 11:30 a.m.  This is when students will receive their tickets to graduation.



You are responsible for maintaining your iPad.  If you lose it, damage it, or do not turn it back in, you will be fined for it; they are not cheap.  You are responsible for iPad, the charger, and the keyboard if you checked one out.  IPads, chargers, keyboards, and any other accessories must be returned prior to cap and gown pickup.



The 20-21 yearbooks will be handed out at the beginning of 2021-2022 school year.
